Johnson started staring down our cats from across the street at the end of winter '22/'23. His brother Kennedy always following at a distance. They looked underfed and especially Johnson had scratches from fights all over his face.
We started feeding them in March 2023, but since both cats were hostile towards our other cats, we served them at the edge of our garden. Johnson got comfortable quickly, clearly been touched by humans before.
His battle-cries gave him his nickname "Oh Long Johnson". To keep in line with our historical names, we named him after US president Lyndon B. Johnson.

Due to a heavy cold, we kept him in quarantine for 2 weeks. During this time, we socialized him towards humans and had him snipped. Since then, he got really large (wide). His socialization towards humans was an absolute success. He loves sitting on your lap, being picked up, carried around and receiving head scratches. His behavior towards other cats also changed dramatically; he's gone completely passive indoors, sleeping next to other cats and keeping his cool. But he's still dominant when outdoors. Not towards the weaker, younger or smaller cats, but almost always willing to fight anyone bigger or stronger than him. He hates Dr. Dre, Charlie, Loki and any other uncastrated cats that come near our garden, except for his brother Kennedy.
