We're not actively sheltering dogs or other animals. We don't have the space, time or funds to shelter dogs.

In the years we've lived in Domlyan and experienced Bulgaria, we've become very aware of the stray dog problem Bulgaria has. Dogs get left on the streets and puppies get thrown in the garbage container and worse... way worse...

When there is a stray dog in Domlyan, we nowadays try to get the municipal to Catch-Neuter-Return. The dog gets sterilized, vaccinated, dewormed and chipped on name of the municipal. If there is no place to rehome the dogs, they will be put back where they were initially captured. We try to take care, but are not always able to take responsibility.

If you want to adopt a dog from the street, we can consult, organize and be your middleman.
